text: Oh, Hello!

Hi, I am Aada. Nice to meet you!

I study Information Technology at Tampere University, my major being telecommunications and minor software engineering. My interests include telecommunications, IT-architecture and programming. I am currently looking to expand my knowledge in network design and IT systems.

Aside from tech, I am passionate about all kinds of handcrafts, from knitting to wood carving. My most unique skill is probably traditional Karelian embroidery: the intricate stitching and precision needed in the pattern-making completely hooked me when I first tried it. I am currently developing a web application for embroidery pattern-making.

Karelian Embroidery Designer - useful tool for embroidery artists

This is a project I am currently working on: a web application for Karelian embroidery pattern-making. The motivation for this project stemmed from my own embroidery practice. Starting to draft my own patterns, I quickly noticed that there were no ready made tools for Karelian embroidery pattern-making. Drafting on paper is of course quick and easy, but I wanted a way to catalogue common patterns and motifs frequently used in Karelian embroidery.

The application is currently in development and can be used to draft patterns and download them as PDF files. My goal for the future is to add pattern templates and enable the users to make their own templates and share them with the community. You can check out the application here.

Rake Entertainment

Rake Entertainment is a small team of game developers. We focus on creating engaging and innovative games. I am part of the programming team where I code game mechanics with Unity and C#.

TKrT Website

The TKrT website is the official site for Tampereen Kristityt Teekkarit ry. I manage and update the site as the website administrator. The website is built using React and AWS Cloud Services.

My homepage

I originally started building this with React, but noticed that my technical requirements weren't so demanding that I couldn't achieve them with pure JavaScript, HTML and CSS. I host this website through GitHub Pages.
